Fruits and gifts
A great deal
As I got to know God, I learnt who Jezus “the Christ” was. What he did and for whom. (everybody) I gladly accepted his offer. Because it is a great deal with wonderfull promises.
Some promises of gifts and fruits. I thought: If I can have those
That is great news!
I was baptised as a sign of my acceptance. Then God gave me presents, gifts and my ways where changed. They changed so that I got an ever more pleasant way of doing things for others and I was far more succesfull in about anything.
These pleasant ways are called the fruits of God's spirit:
love
joy
peace
longsuffering
gentleness
goodness
faith
Meekness
temperance
Think about yourself as a tree that grows fruit. It draws it's "food" from its roots that are in the ground. Like the tree we should draw our "strength and character" from our roots, the Holy Spirit, which is from God. Then we will start growing "good fruit" in our lives.
